Mecklenburg Union Futbol Club is proud to announce we have been awarded a USL Super-20 men’s and women’s team for the 2009 season.  MUFC teams will play other Super-20 teams from North Carolina, Virginia and Eastern Tennessee.  

 DOC Chip Wiggins, who has been involved with the application process, says "This will be a tremendous opportunity for current and former MUFC players as well as players from other clubs and universities in the area.  For our U18 members going on to play collegiately, it will provide them match experience at a higher level and will help prepare them for the change from club to college soccer.  This also gives our younger members something to aspire to along with collegiate soccer participation." 

He adds "This membership will offer added exposure for our members to National Team Staff and Coaches, ODP Staff and Coaches, Professional Team Scouts, as well as College Coaches throughout the region.  The added Summer training can only be an added benefit to our players that typically are only doing camps over the Summer.  Overall, it reinforces our clubs new focus on becoming a more professionally run club while still maintaining a family-like atmosphere."
